Reliability of electronic locks
Hotel and sanatorium electronic locks are completely autonomous mechanisms that can replace mechanical analogs in all rooms and buildings. The HSU system includes the locking mechanism, software for its operation and configuration, a keycard. Exceptional reliability and stable operation of the system are achieved due to several technical solutions:
- The lock is electric battery-powered. This power source is cheap, durable, and easy to replace. There is no need to lay a power cable to every door. As electronic locks are not connected to the common power supply system of the hotel or sanatorium, automatic unlocking of all doors in case of a breakdown of the power supply network is impossible. One battery set is enough for 12 months of regular lock use.
- Simple issue of keycards. A new keycard is provided for every guest and employee. As soon as it is scanned, access by identifiers of previous users is canceled. This means that once a new guest has checked into the room, no checked-out persons can open the door with their personal keycard. In addition, you can cancel access using the hotel management system.
- Advanced protection against copying. The information required to access any particular room or area is not stored in the electronic system of the lock. It is contained only in the keycard. The multilevel encryption system and special technology for issuing keycards protect them from duplicating.
- The open-door sensor is provided. If the system did not lock the door, a guest or an employee will hear a sound signal. This is a kind of alternative to an automatic door closer.
- The closed-door sensor prevents mechanical shifting the latch using any lockpicking tools.
- Protection against mechanical impact. A free-traveling handle also prevents forced entering a room or accidentally damaging the lock.
- The system is provided with an emergency mechanical key. Although the lock failure statistics are extremely low (only 1 lock out of 1000 installed ones requires correction), an emergency mechanical key is also available. It can be used in case of an unexpected system failure. The additional anti-panic function can help your guests and personnel freely leave a room or any other area in case of an emergency.
Access control and monitoring
Any keycard can be easily programmed to work within a strictly defined period. Due to this function, a guest will not be able to use it before check-in or after check-out. Besides, all employees of the hotel or sanatorium will work in certain rooms only during their shift.
Each keycard can be used to enter several rooms and restricted areas / floors / buildings, etc. at the same time. For example, using the same keycard, a guest can open the door of their room, get access to the SPA-complex, restaurant and so on. Hotel or sanatorium personnel can use their keycards to enter, for example, all rooms on a particular floor.
At the moment of reading a keycard or in the event of opening a door with the help of a mechanical key, the lock sends all the necessary information to the access control system: the time of entry and leaving the area and the personal identifier.
As the system uses the Mifare technology, the access tool can be presented in any convenient form: a keycard, a bracelet or a key fob. This allows you to distinguish your hotel or sanatorium from the others and solve the lost key problem.
Hotel / sanatorium electronic locks are also perfect to organize the money spending system too. A keycard can be used as a personal identifier and record all spendings of a guest in the territory of the facility to pay for all services when checking out. This completely solves the problem of underground cash turnover and miscalculation.
An HSU electronic lock is a step towards the automation of a hotel or sanatorium. Due to efficient personnel control, the facility owner reduces all costs associated with unfair work, shortages, etc. At the same time, the system increases the security level and overall comfort of guests. This is a proven way to achieve a significant competitive advantage.
